Dance Classes for Lakewood Families
JC Dance & Company is a dance studio in Wheat Ridge, just north of Lakewood, and plenty of Lakewood families make the short drive up each week. The studio is near 44th and Wadsworth, ten to fifteen minutes from most of Lakewood. We are the Wheat Ridge studio that a lot of Lakewood families have settled into.
The drive up from Lakewood
From Belmar and central Lakewood, Wadsworth Boulevard runs straight north to 44th Avenue in about fifteen minutes. Near Green Mountain or out toward Union Boulevard, Kipling Street north lands you a few blocks away. Two Creeks and the neighborhoods around the Denver Federal Center follow the same roads, and from the Sixth Avenue corridor either Wadsworth or Kipling north is the cleanest run. Coming along West Colfax, Sheridan north works too. It is wide, familiar roads the whole way, with parking at the door.
Room for more than one dancer
Teaching every age from two to adult is useful when you are driving up from Lakewood with more than one kid: a preschooler and an older sibling can take preschool and youth classes close together on the same trip. We also teach ballet and jazz, tap, and contemporary, run adult classes in the evening, offer poms prep for teens, and host camps and parties. For a Lakewood family, the draw is fitting several dancers into one drive.
Building your week around one or two trips
Since Lakewood is a bit farther than our closest neighbors, most families plan around one or two visits. The Saturday morning block handles a lot in a single trip, with Tutu Tots at 9:00, Mini Stars Tap & Ballet at 9:45, and Youth Hip Hop & Tumble at 10:30. On weekdays, the 4:00 and 5:00 classes let you come straight from school pickup, and the adult classes at 7:00 fit an evening drive home. The schedule lays it all out.
What Lakewood parents ask
How long is the drive from Lakewood?
Ten to fifteen minutes for most of Lakewood, up Wadsworth from Belmar or Kipling from the Green Mountain side.
Do you have evening classes for adults?
Yes. Adult jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, and Latin all meet at night, so they work after a drive home from work.
What if we can only come on Saturdays?
The Saturday morning block is built for that, with three back-to-back classes so one trip covers a full week of dance.
