Adult Dance Classes in Wheat Ridge (No Experience Needed)
JC Dance & Company runs adult dance classes in Wheat Ridge for anyone who wants to move, with no experience required. Evening classes cover jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, and Latin, so you can pick the style that sounds fun and start there. These are grown-up classes with a relaxed feel, built for people who have day jobs and have not danced since high school, or ever.
The adult classes we offer

Adult Ballet, Wednesdays 7:00 to 8:00pm

If you are planning a wedding, we also offer wedding dance lessons.
What a class looks like
An adult class is one hour and moves at a comfortable pace. You warm up, learn a combination in pieces, and put it together by the end. The teacher assumes you are here to enjoy it, not to audition, so there is no pressure to be perfect and no one watching but the group. Ballet works on posture and control, tap on rhythm, jazz and hip hop on energy and a little style, and Latin brings rhythm and a lot of movement.
Your first night
Come a few minutes early and tell the teacher you are new. Stand where you can see, and follow along. You will pick up more than you expect just by moving with the group, and the teacher loops back for anyone who wants a step again. Nobody is watching to judge you, and most people in the room started exactly where you are. By the end of the hour you will have learned a short combination, and, more likely than not, you will want to come back.
Is this right for me?
If you can walk, you can take these classes. Beginner-friendly means we start from the basics every time, and no one expects you to know steps. Adults come for the workout, for a night out that is not a bar, and for the plain fun of learning to move. Come to whichever class sounds good. You do not have to commit to one style.
What to wear and bring
Wear comfortable clothes you can move and sweat in. For ballet, socks or bare feet are fine to start. For tap, you will want tap shoes eventually, but not for a first class. For jazz, hip hop, and Latin, clean sneakers or bare feet work depending on the class. Bring water. That is all you need.
Questions adults ask
I have never danced. Can I really start as an adult?
Yes. These classes are built for first-time adult dancers, and starting later is normal here.
Do I need a partner?
No partner required. Every adult class is done on your own, so you can come solo.
Which class should I start with?
Pick the style that sounds most fun. If you want the gentlest start, ballet and tap move at a steady pace. If you want to sweat and have fun fast, try hip hop or Latin.
How do I pay for adult classes?
You can pay per class with a punch card instead of a monthly plan. See the tuition page for punch card and monthly rates.
